Rain day!

Hey all!
So last night it started raining after the Student Life social that we throw every week so we all got drenched on our walk home. And when we woke up this morning it was STILL raining. The reason this really matters is because Brisbane is in a terrible 10-12 year drought, so this much rain is amazing. Not to mention that it's rained at least half of the days we've been here so far. But the cool part is that we got a day off of campus. Well...maybe I shouldn't say that that's really cool, but it will be a much needed time of rejuvination. So i made it to the library to update my blog, check email, etc... We decided not to go to campus today because many students probably will only come to turn in assignments or to stay indoors the entire day in the library or something. Further, since it's study week (no lectures, just studying before final exams which start next week and go for two weeks) there aren't a ton of people on campus in the first place and I think we hit many of them (sometimes repeatedly) yesterday.
The seven days that we've been on campus so far have been pretty good, but tiring. Bobbi and I met a couple of girls who are interested in learning more about christianity so we'll set up times with them to go through this really sweet resource we have called "christianity explained". It goes through the gospel of Mark and explains the main components of being a believer of Christ, and shows that each person has to make a decision.
The culture here is more apathetic than any i've ever seen. We're not going to have stories of multiple people coming to know the Lord like in East Asia or other countries. It's sobering to see how many students literally don't consider things like eternity and what happens after they die. They don't care about Christianity because they've been raised in Catholic schools that may have never shared the love of Christ as much as the law of Christ. It's pretty tough ground, but I know that God can and has changed the heart of people, one at a time.
Well...I'm off to finish the rest of my rain day!
Bobbi and I will be doing the CE with Jordan and Emma, so if you could pray for them to be open to the gospel that would be great!
thanks guys!
see you soon!
PS - we're going to the great barrier reef next weekend for our free weekend!! I"m going to go snorkeling! I'm so excited :) Woo hoo!

the level of apathy in much of the world is disheartening and just not cool. from what i understand, most of europe is the same way.

you all are in my prayers!
